Temporal constitution and nominal reference: theoretical
and experimental approaches
In this talk, I will discuss the parallelism between event
types and nominal reference, in particular, the semantic
similarity between stative verbs and mass nouns, on the one hand,
and event verbs and count nouns, on the other. I will report an
experiment that tries to address this somewhat elusive semantic
relation.
