CNL Lunch Silke Urban Verb Information and Structure-Building Processes Thursday February 14th, 12:30pm, 3416 Marie Mount Hall This talk is designed to provide an insight into current problems in language comprehension, especially related to event related brain responses (ERP). The focus will be on the influence of specific word information on comprehension processes. Further, the lexically stored content of verbs will be examined in two steps: First, I will give a survey of important behavioral and ERP experiments and second, these findings will be discussed with regard to my own data. It is an open question how both existing and new experimental evidence contributes to a more detailed understanding of language comprehension mechanisms. Hence, this talk is designed to invite everybody to a discussion of controversial data. |
