Modularity and the

Recent work along Minimalist lines has attempted to eliminate traditional
GB-style 'modules', conceived of as narrow-syntax external, late (generally LF)
filters on representations, such as the Binding Theory module, Control Theory,
and Theta-theory. In this paper, we apply this logic to other late filter
modules, such as ellipsis and polarity, and explore the consequences for quantification
in particular, addressing the question whether QR can be eliminated.
