Come to class prepared.
Read the chapters BEFORE we discuss them in class.
Class attendance and participation are absolutely essential-- IF you do not show up THEN you will not do well!
If you cannot attend class, it is your responsibility to contact me as soon as possible, preferably before the class. Email is fine.
Homework must be handed in on time, otherwise you will receive a zero.
The University of Maryland has an Honor Pledge:
The Honor Pledge is a statement undergraduate and graduate students should be asked to write by hand and sign on examinations, papers, or other academic assignments not specifically exempted by the instructor.
The Pledge reads: "I pledge on my honor that I have not given or received any unauthorized assistance on this assignment/examination."
The pledge was adopted by the University Senate on April 9, 2001, and approved by the President on May 10, 2001. Full implementation is effective throughout the University on the first day of the Spring 2002 semester.
Reasonable accomodations will be made for students with disabilities. Students requiring accomodations should meet with me as soon as possible to discuss the situation.
Students are expected to attend class. Reasonable accomodations will be made for religious holidays, inclement weather and other excused absences.
Students should inform me as soon as possible if they cannot attend class so that alternative arrangements can be made.
In the case of an emergency which closes the University for an extended period of time, the course will be conducted by web and email.
