On Italian exceptives at the 54th LSRL.

May 9-11 Luisa Seguin is in Provo, Utah, at the edge of the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, delivering her paper on "The syntax and semantics of Italian exceptive-exclusive constructions" to the 54th Linguistic Symposium on Romance Languages. Provo is home to Brigham Young University, founded in 1875 by Brigham Young himself, where our alum Jeff Green *18 is Assistant Professor of Linguistics. Provo also features prominently in the 1985 film Fletch, which explains the example sentence "Fletch chased Stanwyck from LA to Provo," written by Jeff for Alexander's book.
